Raymond Stanley Noble (17 December 1903 – 3 April 1978) was an English jazz and big band musician, who was a bandleader, composer and arranger, as well as a radio host, television and film comedian and actor; he also performed in the United States. He is best known for his signature tune, "The Very Thought of You".

6 févr. 2020 · Ray Noble was the first of a long line of English musical talents who came to the United States and became a star. At his best his music matched the work of America’s greatest composers: Gershwin, Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern.
Ray Noble's band recordings were the first by a British ensemble to achieve popularity in the United States, so much so, particularly among college students, that in 1934 he journeyed to America, along with drummer/manager, Bill Harty, and the distinctive South African Vocalist, Al Bowlly.
