Marilyn (U.S. title: Roadhouse Girl) is a 1953 British second feature ('B') film noir directed by Wolf Rilla starring Sandra Dorne and Maxwell Reed. The film is based on James M. Cain's 1934 novel The Postman Always Rings Twice.
An unrecognisably young Ferdy Mayne crops up as a sleazy, flashy hustler who woos Marilyn with promises of the high life but skedaddles when she grows too serious. Best actor is Leslie Dwyer = Mr Partridge himself - as the cuckolded hubbie who comes to a predictable end.

Largely overlooked, this film shows Marilyn playing a wife of neurotic returned soldier played by Joseph Cotton. To say more would ruin the film for Monroe fans, watch it, it's an entertaining thriller.

Le film a deux stars : Marilyn Monroe et les chutes du Niagara. Hathaway conserva un excellent souvenir de sa collaboration avec l’actrice. C'est un des rares films où Marilyn a un rôle de « méchante » et le seul où son rôle décède.
