Lusting for the gold, Carole tries to seduce Forrest, but he rebuffs her. When Forrest offers his men the choice of fighting or surrendering the gold, they vote to stay and fight. Soon after, two Union soldiers ride down the trail and encounter Boyd and his men.
The Civil War is over, but not everyone knows it yet. On the way back through Confederate territory, Union soldiers stumble across a chest of gold and must make their way back to the North without losing their lives in the process.
