Grant, Gale, Martin, Amy, and Johnny are a gang of petty ex-cons and unemployed outcasts. They stagger through life, barely surviving. After a night on the town, Johnny talks about making some fast money. An argument breaks out. Chaos ensues. In the mayhem we glimpse a fight between Grant and Johnny. Suddenly, a shot rings out. Johnny falls dead.
