Gaetano Reina was the leader of the New York Mafia Family that became the Luchese Family from 1920 to 1930. He was killed by rivals in a gang war and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, New York.

Without Joseph Morello and Lupo the Wolf at the helm, the Morellos' power was waning. During this time, Gaetano Reina, a captain within the family, took advantage of its weakened status and broke off, forming his own separate mafia famiglia based mostly in the Bronx.
