Yūji Takahashi ( 高橋 悠治, Takahashi Yūji?), né le 21 septembre 1938 à Tokyo est un compositeur, interprète et pianiste japonais. Biographie. Il étudie auprès de Roh Ogura et Minao Shibata à l' école de musique Tōhō Gakuen. Il fait ses débuts en 1960 en jouant Quantitaten de Bo Nilsson (en).

In the 1960s, Takahashi was a prominent avant-garde composer, influenced by Xenakis and Daniélou. He later rejected Western avant-garde for a music that reflects internationalism and the masses. Known as Takahashi II, he focused on performance and Eastern musical elements, maintaining an uncompromising and ascetic style.
