2 févr. 2016 · Students will attend Oshawa Central for the last time this June and returning students will be distributed between McLaughlin, located on Stevenson Road at Rossland Road, and Eastdale, located on Harmony Road at Adelaide Avenue, in September.
Opened in 1950 at 240 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa Central Collegiate Institute was the second high school to be built in Oshawa. The attendance in the O.C.V.I was overcrowded and was no longer able to accommodate everyone.

6 oct. 2015 · Parents and politicians alike, including Mayor John Henry and parent Becky Brand, came out to a meeting recently to advocate that Oshawa Central Collegiate Institute not be shut down this June. The Durham District School Board has said it’s considering closing the school’s doors, citing low attendance numbers.
