Tommy Roland Shaw (born September 11, 1953) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter best known for his tenure in the rock band Styx as co-lead vocalist. In between his stints with Styx, he has played with other groups including Damn Yankees and Shaw Blades as well as releasing several solo albums.
Shaw Blades is an American musical duo/group formed by Tommy Shaw of Styx and Jack Blades of Night Ranger, both of whom played in the supergroup Damn Yankees. It is an informal duo which has produced two albums between other projects, 1995's Hallucination and 2007's Influence.
Between his duties at the helm of Styx, Shaw managed to release a further two solo albums, 7 Deadly Zens (1998), and The Great Divide (2011), and even managed to find time to reconvene with Blades to release the sophomore Shaw Blades record, Influence, in 2007.
Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades do the "cover tunes" thing with Influence, a fun release that sees the Styx and Night Ranger veterans (who also played together in Damn Yankees) going back and revisiting some songs from their youth.
