  2. It was established in 1932 as part of the reorganization of the Institute recommended by President Karl Taylor Compton. SoE has eight academic departments and two interdisciplinary institutes. The School grants SB, MEng, SM, engineer's degrees, and PhD or ScD degrees.

  3. Combine fundamental science (how natural and human systems work) with novel engineering (materials, design, logistics). Our faculty and students are testing, building, and scaling solutions to meet the pressures of climate change, food security, urbanization, and pandemics.

  6. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Economics jointly offer a Master of Engineering in Computer Science, Economics, and Data Science (6-14P).
