23 nov. 2004 · The title track unfurls as a taciturn dirge anchored on the dull drone of Filiano's bass and a clip-clop rhythm on Grassi's cymbals and toms. Brown and Robertson engage in exchange of liquid legato lines framed by pockets of polyphony that lead to a sudden and pensively stated close.
Each band member writes at least one song, and the range is striking: saxophonist Rob Brown offers an aching duet with trumpeter Herb Robertson on “Underground Elevation,” while Grassi’s title track sounds like a quickened take on Coleman’s “Lonely Woman.”

Herb Robertson, Jeppe Skovbakke, Anders Banke. Clarence " Herb " Robertson (born February 21, 1951) is a jazz trumpeter and flugelhornist. He was born in Piscataway, New Jersey and attended the Berklee School of Music.
