Sixpenny Corner was the UK's first daily TV soap opera, broadcast by ITV from September 1955 until June 1956. The programme was created by Jonquil Antony and Hazel Adair; the latter later co-created Crossroads.
Sixpenny Corner: With Patricia Dainton, Howard Pays, Robert Webber, Betty Bowden. This was the first ever serial shown on Independent Television in the UK, and started on their second day of broadcast. It was about the life and love of a young couple running a garage together.
