Alfa Castaldi (19 December 1926 – 17 December 1995) was an Italian photographer. [1] Career. He began his photographic career in 1954, depicting the social life of his native Milan for Italian magazines, moving into fashion photography in the 1960s, when he provided images for Novità (which became Vogue Italia in 1966), Linea Italiana, and Arianna.

Alfa Castaldi has been one of the key figures in italian fashion photography. He started his carreer in the '50s as a reporter in post-war Milan where he worked in a close relationship with Ugo Mulas.
In 1988, Alfa notes the appearance of a myriad of small stencils on the walls of Paris. They are called "Pochoirs", one of the first forms of street-art. From curiosity for this artistic phenomenon comes a research that will bring Alfa to make several trips to Paris documenting hundreds of Pochoirs to be exhibited in multiple image panels.
