Vor allem diese Fassung ist es, die das Lied zum „Volkslied“ gemacht hat und für seine enorme Bekanntheit verantwortlich ist, da sie vielfach in Schul- und Chorliederbüchern gedruckt wurde.

29 juin 2024 · I grew up on Schubert lieder with (largely) Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau with Gerald Moore at the piano. For me, they were the perfect performers who got me so involved with lieder. I used to accompany my mother in songs such as Der Erlkõnig (not an easy one!)
