21 juin 2024 · Titanoboa, (Titanoboa cerrejonensis), extinct snake that lived during the Paleocene Epoch (66 million to 56 million years ago), considered to be the largest known member of the suborder Serpentes. Titanoboa is known from several fossils that have been dated to 58 million to 60 million years ago.

It may also be based on the bergstutz or stollwurm, a type of dragon that has been presented as burrowing. Mega Steelix's crystalline body may be a reference to graphite turning into diamonds from compression.

I remember as a kid in the mid 2000s watching a B horror movie about a giant snake. I think it was on Syfy but not 100% sure. I remember the snake constructing someone on a tree branch and then swooping in and biting peoples heads off on a roller coaster.
