27 juin 2024 ·            Finally, on Saturday, July 6 th, start your day off with the Charles City Bike Ride departing at 8 a.m. from the First Security Bank & Trust lot. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and cost is $5 per person, with a choice of 26, 34 or 50-plus mile routes.

The route has been readjusted at the request of the engineers of the Main Street Rehabilitation Project, said Mark Wicks, community development director.

21 juin 2024 · Tweaks continue in advance of Fourth of July weekend festivities in Charles City. The path of the parade on July 4th has been thrown into flux with the Main Street rehabilitation project, but, for the most part, was finalized and approved during the City Council meeting June 3rd.
24 juin 2024 · The flooding Cedar River cut Charles City in half Monday morning, forcing the closing of both the Brantingham Street Bridge and the Main Street Bridge, the only two routes within the city limits for vehicles to travel between the north and south sections of the city.
