18 juin 2024 · Steamboat Springs, CO - Chhiring Dorje Sherpa is one of most acclaimed guides in mountaineering history. In 2013, he received the Explorer’s Club’s Tenzing Norgay Award for his heroic actions during the 2008 K2 disaster.
She asked Ang Dorje how far the summit was. “He told me, ‘You’ll make it there, but won’t come back alive.’” This was an experienced climber who had summited Everest before.

17 juin 2024 · Shivling was first ascended on June 3, 1974, by Laxman Singh, Dorje, Ang Tharkey, Pemba Tharkey, and Pasang Tsering Sherpa. Led by Hukam Singh, they were members of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The party went up the west ridge, which later became the normal route.
