My theory is this: it's a band from East Germany that sent a demo tape to the radio. It wouldn't make sense for a band from the UK to send one - just one - demo tape to a radio station in Communist Germany. If the band were from another country, there would be more similar demo tapes around Europe.
I'm a pretty decent sized CD collector and love physical media, although I have never touched a casette tape in my life. But one day, which was yesterday, I saw a very rare tape for a questionable low price for sale on my wantslist. I love the artist a LOT, so I purchased it anyway.
So back when Fred Mascherino was in highschool, he was in a band called Stickman for a couple years. He's brought it up a couple times in interviews, but I just found one from way back in 2004 where he indicates they released a demo tape when he was 14/15 (would've been around '88-'89).
