A 17 ans, le marchand vénitien entreprend un voyage long de 24 ans avec son père et son oncle à travers la Russie et l'Asie et jusqu'à la Chine. Marco Polo est né à Venise en 1254. Son père, qui était un riche commerçant, était parti en voyage en Orient lorsque Marco Polo vit le jour. Lorsque son père est revenu à Venise, Marco Polo était déjà âgé d'une quinzaine d'années. Père et fils vont retourner en Orient afin de découvrir des contrées inconnues.

12 févr. 2019 · Marco Polo was born into a wealthy Venetian merchant family in 1254 CE; his mother died shortly after giving birth to Marco. In 1271 CE, then aged just 17, Marco accompanied his father and uncle, Niccoló and Maffeo, on what was the elder men's second journey to East Asia, visiting the court of the Mongol leader Kublai Khan in China.
