12 avr. 2022 · About Fort Henry . Fort Henry was built between 1832 and 1837 to protect Fort Frederick, the opening of the Rideau Canal and the town of Kingston. British soldiers were garrisoned there until 1870, followed by Canadian troops until 1891. In 1936, the Fort underwent restoration and opened as a living history museum in 1938.
