Hutt Valley High School is a state coeducational secondary school located in central Lower Hutt, New Zealand. A total of 1,889 students from Years 9 to 13 (ages 12 to 18) attend the school as of February 2024, [1] making the school one of the largest in the Wellington metropolitan area.
Learning Areas & Subjects. The New Zealand Curriculum is divided into essential learning areas: areas of knowledge and understanding that all students are expected to acquire. We value learning through the lens of each learning areas and give equitable time to them in junior school (Years 9 & 10).

HVHS is a large co-educational school; close to Wellington the Capital City. Each student is special to us and has the opportunity to mix easily with New Zealand students. Our school, founded in 1926, has a fine academic record and a Nobel Prize Winner.
