Enrolment in the program is easy and free! Simply create a VIA profile and be sure to check the box that says “I want to become a VIA Préférence member.”. Once your new account is activated (you’ll receive an activation email immediately after creating your profile), just provide your membership number when booking and start earning points!

Aside from implementing a new reservation system, it’s also giving its Préférence loyalty program a makeover, and adjusting its baggage fees. The loyalty program is switching to a dynamic pricing model, and the cost of award tickets will fluctuate, depending on the cash price.
17 nov. 2023 · VIA Préférence points have no monetary value and are not redeemable for cash. Except as permitted from time to time by VIA Rail or permitted within the Program, VIA Préférence points cannot be assigned, exchanged, purchased, or given by gift. VIA Préférence points cannot be sold, traded, bartered, rented, or otherwise disposed of.
VIA Préférence members can use points to pay for: Tickets for travel aboard VIA Rail trains purchased directly from VIA Rail. The purchase of a VIA Rail travel pass. Any baggage for which a fee applies (as per VIA Rail baggage policy) Fees for travelling with a pet. Fees for an unaccompanied minor.
