In celebration of the 40th anniversary of her landmark album Horses, Patti Smith and her band performed the LP in its entirety during a two-night stand at L.A.’s Wiltern Theatre in 2016.
15 déc. 2020 · By 1974, Patti Smith formed her own rock group with guitarist Lenny Kaye, bassist Ivan Král and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty. The band recorded a single, “Hey Joe / Piss Factory”, a hybrid of a rock standard with additional spoken word poetry. Soon, the Patti Smith Group was signed by Clive Davis for his new label, Arista Records.

Horses is the debut studio album by American musician Patti Smith.It was released by Arista Records on November 10, 1975. A fixture of the mid-1970s underground rock music scene in New York City, Smith signed to Arista in 1975 and recorded Horses with her band at Electric Lady Studios in August and September of that year.
Patti Smith was honored by ASCAP with the Founders Award, representing lifetime achievement, and the recipient of Sweden’s Polar Award that is an international acknowledgement for significant achievements in music. Patti Smith continues to write, perform readings, work on artistic projects, and lends support for human right issues.
