Mostly from the J.O.B. vaults, Snooky Pryor begins with the seminal Marvel 78, Keep What You Got b/w Stockyard Blues, that introduced Snooky, Floyd and Moody Jones to records (1947). The equally important Planet 78, Telephone Blues b/w Boogie is also here (1948) as is the exciting Johnny Young pairing My Baby Walked Out b/w Let Me Ride Your Mule (also on Planet,1948).

He claimed to have pioneered the now-common method of playing amplified harmonica by cupping a small microphone in his hands along with the harmonica, although on his earliest records in the late 1940s and early '50s he did not utilize this method.
