It occupies an extensive site of 150 acres in North Tonbridge, Kent – just a 40-minute train ride from London Charing Cross. There are some 800 boys in seven Boarding Houses and five Day Houses.

Basic Information & Location. Tonbridge School, being one of the four most popular boarding boys’ schools in the UK, was established in 1553 and recruits boys from the age of 12-18. Most of the current students come from the middle-class families and even from noble families. The school is located in Kent, an hour drive from central London.
Tonbridge School is the definition of an all-excellent, ever-busy boys boarding school. The boys are encouraged to go for both depth and breadth in their education. This leads them to achieve an amazing 80% A-grades at A-Levels in 2023, as well as excelling at sports (rugby is huge!), drama, music and the arts.
