John Logie Baird, né le 14 août 1888 à Helensburgh et mort le 14 juin 1946 à Bexhill-on-Sea , est un ingénieur écossais connu pour avoir notamment inventé un des premiers systèmes de télévision animée électromécanique ayant largement contribué à l'Histoire des techniques de télévision.

John Logie Baird. Ingénieur et physicien écossais (Helensburgh 1888-Bexhill 1946). Pionnier de la télévision en Angleterre, il en fit une démonstration dès 1926, puis en organisa l'exploitation en Angleterre et en Allemagne. Il imagina également des procédés de télévision en relief et en couleurs.
