Hu Jintao ( chinois simplifié : 胡锦涛 ; pinyin : Hú Jǐntāo [ x ǔ t ɕ ì ntʰ á u] 1 ), né le 21 décembre 1942 à Taizhou, Jiangsu (à environ 300 km à l’ouest de Shanghai ), est un homme d'État chinois.
Hu Jintao a été élu secrétaire général du Parti Communiste chinois lors du XXVIe Congrès, en novembre 2002. Il est devenu président de la République populaire de Chine en mars 2003, en remplacement de Jiang Zemin, avec Wen Jiabao en qualité de Premier ministre.
