Heidelberg Materials acquired its Canadian operations in 1993 and currently maintains a very strong position in the country with 3 modern cement plants, extensive aggregate deposits, and many ready-mixed concrete plants.
Heidelberg Materials is a German multinational building materials company headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany. Formerly known as HeidelbergCement AG, the company has rebranded as Heidelberg Materials in September 2022. [5] It is a DAX corporation and stands as one of the world's largest building materials companies.
Avant l'acquisition d'Italcementi, le groupe HeidelbergCement était présent dans plus de 40 pays, totalisant notamment 102 usines de ciment, 1 300 sites de production de béton prêt-à-l'emploi. Il emploie 45 000 personnes [ 18 ] .
Heidelberg Materials est l'un des principaux producteurs de matériaux de construction au monde. En France, il regroupe les cinq entités opérationnelles suivantes : production et distribution de ciment, production et distribution de granulats, production et distribution de béton prêt à l'emploi.
Depuis mai 2023, l'entité française du groupe Heidelberg Materials, spécialisée dans le ciment, le béton, les granulats et la chaux, porte le nom Heidelberg Materials France. Cette marque mondiale vise à unifier les activités du groupe et à accompagner la transition écologique.
