Kite's Nen ability is called Crazy Slots and allows him to conjure some weapons with a Nen Beast clown affixed to it. A roulette appears on the clown's tongue with numbers 1 to 9, each corresponding to a specific weapon.
There are 9 weapons in total, but we know only 3: the scythe, the rifle and the mace/wand/khakkhara he rolled against Pitou. There is also a number that appears only when he is in a life or death situation and completely determined not to die (the anime implies that number is the mace, but it is not confirmed).

Think about it, kite has 9 different weapons with crazy slot and one of them can reincarnate him. It’s most likely his No. 3, the one he used againts Pitou. It’s also stated by Gin that this ability only comes out when kite really believes he’s about to die.
Kite uses his Nen ability to conjure a mace-like weapon to buy some time for them to escape. Unable to stand up to the Chimera Ant's strength, Kite is killed by pitou. Since Neferpitou enjoyed their fight with Kite, they keep the body instead of feeding it to the Queen.
