Chip Taylor (born James Wesley Voight; March 21, 1940) is an American songwriter and singer noted for writing "Angel of the Morning" and "Wild Thing".
Chip Taylor (né James Welsey Voight le 21 mars 1940 à Yonkers) est un auteur-compositeur américain. Il est connu notamment pour avoir écrit le morceau Wild Thing. Ses chansons ont été interprétées par des artistes comme The Troggs, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Linda Ronstadt, ou encore Emmylou Harris, dont ils ont fait de nombreux succès.

Started writing songs as young teenager, went on to record 23 solo albums. Chip Taylor is responsible for one of the most famous songs to come out of the 1960s—The Troggs’ 1966 hit “Wild Thing,” which was famously covered in 1967 by Jimi Hendrix.
