L' Aconcagua est un sommet d' Argentine situé à treize kilomètres de la frontière chilienne et s'élevant à 6 962 mètres d'altitude. Surnommé le « colosse de l' Amérique », il constitue le point culminant de la cordillère des Andes, du continent, de l'hémisphère austral et la plus haute montagne en dehors de l' Asie.
L’Aconcagua culmine à 6 961 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer, ce qui en fait le point le plus élevé des hémisphères ouest et sud. Il fait partie de la majestueuse cordillère des Andes et de l’un des légendaires Sept Sommets (les plus hautes montagnes de chacun des 7 continents).
