1 mars 2012 · Our matching process at MESA is twice as stringent at plus-or-minus 5% before a tube moves into our next color category and is matched with another nearly identical one. More important is that ALL our color categories are within the “sweet spot” of tube performance.

10 août 2005 · If you're still in doubt, you're free to browse the Tubes-section on this forum, where several forumites have tested the color coded tubes to confirm the bias variations. I also have several emails from the guys at Mesa recommending specific color codes for my older Mark IIC+.
22 oct. 2009 · The Mesa tubes are color coded simply to keep them in matched pairs or quartets. You CAN mix two color codes in a 4 power tube setup, but one color needs to be the outer most tubes, and the other color needs to be the innermost tubes (push/pull).

These color codes do not apply to different tonal variation (the number and two letter codes with the color code are Production Batch #'s and Tester's initials respectively)."
