Charles Norton Felton (January 1, 1832 – September 13, 1914) was an American banker and politician who served as a Congressman (1885 to 1889) and U.S. Senator (1891 to 1893) from California in the late 19th century, in addition to co-founding the progenitor of the Chevron Corporation.
In September 1879, Charles N. Felton, Lloyd Tevis, George Loomis and others created the "Pacific Coast Oil Company", which acquired the assets of Star Oil with $1 million in funding.

US Congressman, US Senator. Born in Buffalo, New York, he was trained as a lawyer, but never practiced, and became a successful merchant after a move to California. In California he served as Treasurer of the United States Mint in San Francisco from 1868 to 1877, and in the California Legislature.
