Following WWII, ex-G.I. Stan opened up a drive-in restaurant. His girlfriend, Joanie, is one of the car hops. They want to get married someday, but the less-than-stellar business the restaurant takes in puts a hold on that plan.
Stan Fabian (Frank Lovejoy) runs a diner and employs his new girlfriend Joanie Daniel (Mari Blanchard) as a waitress whose slick brother Frank (Richard Denning) arrives from out of state, meets Stan, and invites him in on a hunt for the gold an old business partner stashed in Germany.
