Shortly after Lo's birth the family returned to Senegal where they settled in the town of Rufisque, near the capital Dakar. He plays guitar and harmonica, and has been called "the Bob Dylan of Africa".
Bio Ismaël Lô is a Senegalese singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, who plays the guitar and harmonica. He is fondly called the "Bob Dylan of Africa." Lô found his love music at an early age, making music with a homemade one-string guitar. He began his career in the 1970s and has released multiple albums over the years.
