Lee Clayton (born Billy Hugh Shotts; October 29, 1942 – June 12, 2023) was an American songwriter and musician. He notably wrote Waylon Jennings' 1972 outlaw country song "Ladies Love Outlaws".

Lee Clayton (1942-2023) performs his song "We The People". One of the original music outlaws, Lee Clayton wrote the song "Ladies Love Outlaws" recorded by Waylon Jennings on RCA Records in 1972. It was also recorded by The Everly Brothers in 1973.
