19 oct. 2021 · L’usine Suncoast Seafood à Grand-Digue et l’usine Raymond O’Neill & Son Fisheries à Escuminac passent aux mains d'investisseurs étrangers. La firme d’investissement américaine ACON a fait l’acquisition de deux usines de transformation de homard la semaine dernière. Ces deux usines embauchent environ 370 travailleurs saisonniers à temps plein.

La nouvelle tombe deux ans après l’achat de l’entreprise par une société privée d’investissement américaine. Cette usine située près du quai emploie chaque année environ 135 travailleurs saisonniers.
Raymond O’Neill & Son Fisheries Ltd. was founded in 1983, starting as a small lobster pond located next to the family home. From there a demand for lobster products grew and soon the existing site used for the Company became too small.
