Richard Michael Mayall (7 March 1958 – 9 June 2014), known professionally as Rik Mayall, was an English comedian, actor and writer. He formed a close partnership with Ade Edmondson while they were students at Manchester University, and was a pioneer of alternative comedy in the 1980s.
Très tôt, à l'âge de 24 ans, il devient un acteur de séries très populaire en Grande-Bretagne puis un auteur à succès, notamment récompensé en 1987 pour son rôle d'Alan B'Stard dans la série The New Statesman dont l'humour au vitriol est une critique acide de l'ère Margaret Thatcher .
