Henry Carlton Cumberbatch (8 December 1900 – 27 January 1966) was an officer of the British Royal Navy who served as a submarine commander before and at the start of the Second World War.

He is a grandson of submarine commander Henry Carlton Cumberbatch, and a great-grandson of diplomat Henry Arnold Cumberbatch CMG. Cumberbatch attended Brambletye School and Harrow School. Whilst at Harrow, he had an arts scholarship and painted large oil canvases.
Henry Carlton Cumberbatch was born in Turkey in 1900 and joined the Royal Navy in 1917. He commanded several submarines and depot ships before and during World War II, and retired in 1945.
