Ridgeway Academy, formerly Sir Frederic Osborn School ("Sir Freds"), which itself was formed by the merging in 1968 of Attimore Hall School (secondary modern) and The High School (grammar school), is a secondary school in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England.
Ridgeway Academy is a secondary school in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, that joined the Alban Academies Trust in 2018. It was previously known as Sir Frederic Osborn School, named after one of the founders of the town, and has a history of providing excellent education since 1956.

'Everybody can achieve’ - Ridgeway Academy has over 900 students and is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school based in Welwyn Garden City. It was founded in 1968 as Sir Frederic Osborn School in honour of one of the founding fathers of Welwyn Garden City.
Born in 1885 in London, he left school at 15 for a job as an office boy. He attended night-school. He joined the Fabian Society, where he edited Fabian Nursling, as the magazine of the youth cohort was called. In 1912, he took a job as secretary-manager of the Howard Cottage Society in Letchworth Garden City, founded by Ebenezer Howard.
