Charnett Moffett (June 10, 1967 – April 11, 2022) was an American jazz bassist. A consummate and versatile bassist, and composer, he was an apparent child prodigy. Moffett began playing bass in the family band, touring the Far East in 1975 at the age of eight.

Charnett Moffett est né le 10 juin 1967 à New York. A l’âge de huit ans, il commence la basse, réalise ses premiers enregistrements et sa première tournée en Extrême-Orient avec l’orchestre familial, The Moffett family comprenant Codaryl aux percussions, Mondre à la trompette et Charles Jr au saxophone ténor.
