Midnight on the Water is an album by David Bromberg. His fourth album, it was released by Columbia Records as a vinyl LP in 1975. It was released in CD format by Sony Records in 1994, and by SBME Special Markets in 2009.
A big-band blowout album with guest appearances by Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Emmy Lou Harris, it features “The Jokes on Me” and “Don’t Put that Thing on Me.” ~ Richard Meyer.

Avant de jouer avec eux, il était membre de trois groupes country/rock, Hearts & Flowers, Dillard & Clark et les Flying Burrito Brothers.
Produced by Bernie Leadon (of The Eagles and The Flying Burrito Brothers) and Brian Ahern (Nashville producer and husband of Emmylou Harris), David Bromberg’s 1975 album Midnight on the Water features one of the decade’s greatest congregations of musicians.
Bernard Matthew Leadon III (pronounced led-un; born July 19, 1947) is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and founding member of the Eagles, for which he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
Here, he gives us a fine medley of 19th century fiddle tunes in the Yankee's Revenge Medley, A nice run though of the Apallacian standard Dark Hollow, and the gorgeous title cut, which while not a standard, seems like one of those Mississippi river tunes that could be 200 years old. It's the best cut on the album, and is just gorgeous.
