The Hudson Project is a live album by guitarist John Abercrombie, drummer Peter Erskine, saxophonist Bob Mintzer, and bassist John Patitucci, recorded at the Manhattan Center, New York City on October 17, 1998 and released in 2000 by the Stretch label.
As a leader he formed a trio with Joey Calderazzo and Peter Erskine, and a quartet with Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Tavaglione, and John Beasley. He has played with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Roy Haynes. Patitucci switches between double bass and electric bass.

On their debut album, the band performs eight brilliant compositions, ranging in style from a spiritual ballad (The Well by John Patitucci), to second-line funk Cats and Kittens by Peter Erskine), and from country-inflected swing (That's For Sure by John Abercrombie), to bebop (Modern Day Tuba by Bob Mintzer).
