Rousseau’s lyrical descriptions of early man and simple societies fueled the nineteenth-century popular romantic revolt against classicism in art and literature. His criticism of property, together with his dark view of the downside of mutual dependence, made a deep impression on the young Karl Marx.
Revolt against Reason: Jean Jacques Rousseau viewed and analysed the contemporary society in his own way and his way was a different one. He wanted the revival of freedom and simplicity that prevailed in the state of nature.
