19 oct. 1999 · While metal gods James Hetfield and Jim Martin guest on the aptly titled “Eclectic Electric,” the most satisfying guest has to be Tom Waits, who conjures the album’s circus-like intro. He reappears for “Coattails of a Dead Man,” the inebriated waltz that closes the album.
Antipop was released in 1999, and featured production and guest appearances from James Hetfield of Metallica, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Matt Stone, one of the creators of South Park, Stewart Copeland of The Police, Jim Martin of Faith No More, and Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit.
18 oct. 1999 · Similarly, the 8+ minute creeper “Eclectic Electric” trades psychedelic chirps for heavy slashes, in no small part due to guests Jim Martin and James Hetfield on guitar, eventually it erodes to a bunch of talky-sounding guitar solos.
This is due in part to the inclusion of RATM guitarist Tom Morello on "Mama Didn't Raise no Fool" and Metallica's James Hetfield on other tracks. Primus draws from all their same influences on this album, including Rush, King Crimson and Zappa, but also include more metal influences.
