In 1972, Welles said that filming was "96% complete" (which seems to have been an exaggeration, since many of the film's key scenes were not shot until 1973–1975 – although it was true that The Other Side of the Wind, the film-within-the-film, was complete by that stage) and in January 1976 the last scene of principal photography was completed.

16 oct. 2022 · A crew of astronauts on a repair mission starts to develop power failure and drift to the dark side of the moon. They soon discover a old space shuttle that was lost years ago, and as they try to salvage it for parts it's reviled the ship was found in the same corresponding spot in space as the Bermuda triangle is on earth.
As the ship grows colder, they find themselves drifting toward the dark side of the Moon. An old NASA shuttle, the Discovery , drifts toward them, although NASA has not been operating for 30 years. Two of the crew members board the ship, hoping to salvage parts to repair their ship, but instead they find a dead body.
It has also been suggested that 2001: A Space Odyssey and Planet of the Apes, both released the year before, set a high standard for Journey to the Far Side of the Sun and other films to follow. Erickson argues that Journey to the Far Side of the Sun is inferior to 2001 for presenting a "working future" that is still dominated by commercialism.
