Air Canada Tango was a low-cost subsidiary branch of Air Canada, which was established in 2001 to offer no-frills service on some of Air Canada's routes and to reduce operating costs at the struggling main company.

Tango is now a fare class although it used to be a separate low cost subsidiary of Air Canada. If it's a regular Air Canada flight you're booking, they're pretty good. Maybe you're thinking of Air Canada Rouge which is now the no-frills subsidiary?
An A320 first delivered to Canadian Airlines International May 13, 1992, it was merged into Air Canada's fleet November 2001. This short lived Tango color scheme was a low fare promotion that became a Tango low fare ticket and the aircraft later returned to main line colors.
