Apodado Pres o Prez por Billie Holiday, es una de las figuras más importantes de la historia del jazz, y su trabajo discurrió por los campos del swing, el bop y el cool.
Lester Young. Lester Willis Young (27/08/1909 – 15/03/1959), surnommé "Prez", était un saxophoniste ténor et clarinetiste américain. Il fut l'un des musiciens les plus influents de l'ère Swing, et un précurseur du Cool Jazz. Né à Woodville, Mississippi, Lester Young a joué dès son plus jeune âge dans l'orchestre familial.
