I haven't seen many films that so perfectly evoke and examine alienation; political, social, interpersonal and internal. Slacker has sort of the same structure of Waking Life (which self-consciously echoes it in ways I was oblivious of when I saw that one), but there's much more to chew on in each scene besides the content of the monologues.

2 sept. 2013 · Viva Les Amis is an odd little feature, a 10-minute trailer for a film by Nancy Higgins, that is about a coffee shop in Austin called Les Amis (of course,) which was used for some scenes in Slacker. It talks briefly about the restaurant's history, the people that visit and its use in Slacker. Not surprisingly it appears the cafe is now a Starbucks.
