The Brearley School offers 13 interscholastic sports: Badminton, Basketball, Cross Country, Dance, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Squash, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field and Volleyball. The Brearley School is ranked as one of the top 20% of private schools in New York for most sports offered.
The Vision for The Brearley School was to imagine a new home that would consolidate the ‘whole’ school and all divisions into a campus of buildings in close proximity to each other. After 85 years in its purpose-built premises at 610 East 83rd St., the school had doubled the student body and outgrown its original building.

10 juin 2024 · The Brearley School is an independent K-XII school for girls in New York City known for its academic excellence, cross-divisional teaching, and commitment to developing and sustaining a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and antiracist community.
For the 2025-2026 school year, Brearley will be considering candidates for Kindergarten, Classes V through VIII in our Middle School, and Class IX in our Upper School. Spaces in Classes I through IV and Class X will be based on attrition, which means a current family must leave Brearley in order for us to consider a new student for these classes.
