Thomas Michael John Kempinski (24 March 1938 – 2 August 2023) was an English playwright and actor best known for his 1980 play Duet for One, which was a major success in London and New York City, and much revived since. Kempinski also wrote the screenplay for the film version of Duet for One.
Tom Kempinski was born on 24 March 1938 in Hendon, London, England, UK. He was an actor and writer, known for Moon Zero Two (1969), Moonbase 3 (1973) and Gumshoe (1971). He was married to Sarah Tingay, Frances de la Tour and Margaret Nolan. He died on 2 August 2023.

Tom Kempinski was a playwright born in 1938 in London to Jewish parents who had immigrated from Germany. Before he succeeded with his writing, Kempinski had a career in acting. He became prominent as a playwright with his play Duet for One (1980).
